MAM METTE NURSERY SCHOOL

The name of the nursery school is MAM METTE nursery school, located in Arrangallen village  in the district of Foni Bintang Karania. At the moment the nursery has 84 children, 3 teachers and two warders who are all voluntary workers since the nursery was opened. No fees are paid by the children or the society at large. The children come from the same village and due to transport shortage we could not register more children from the surrounding villages. At present we have three classes from grade one to three. The proposed initiative is to establish/ build an Early Childhood Development Center known as (ECD) for the local people and their young children in the community who cannot have access to education. The community of Arranggallen and its surrounding areas have a large number of children who have no access to early childhood education due to the few available schools in the area, that cannot serve all the needs and those few are far from their access considering the age of the children who are due to attend the ECD. This unable a huge number of them miss this great early educational opportunity to be enrolled. They normally have to wait untill they have the age of 6 or 7 years for them to enroll into the Primary School system which leaves a big vacuum in their educational cycle as early childhood career develops the child’s mind and be ready to enter the primary school. Many children in this community and the surrounding are missing this chance and it affects their entire educational preparedness even in the future.
